Summer Hocking Hills Elopement
Like many 2020 couples, Cody & Shawnacy came to a point where they realized they needed to postpone their wedding. This decision was definitely not easy, but if you know Cody & Shawnacy, you know that these two radiate joy and positivity through any situation. After deciding to hold off on the big celebration, they knew that didn’t want to hold off being married. On June 8, they eloped.
The whole day was thrown together so last minute, yet everything came together so perfectly. The morning was slow and peaceful, as we made our way up to a tiny cabin tucked back in Hocking County, Ohio. The bride and groom got ready in two different rooms of the three room cabin, while their families prepped food in the third. A short little walk from the cabin out into the woods took us to the spot we chose for the ceremony. Cody & Shawnacy took a moment to pray together before they walked down the aisle and said their vows. After the ceremony, we ate some food, cut the cake and then headed out to go run around for pictures. God painted a sunset just for Cody & Shawnacy over a gorgeous field and we ran off into the dark. The night ended with twinkle lights strung in the woods. Right where the couple said their vows, they shared a first dance under the stars.
I honestly couldn’t imagine being a photographer if I wasn’t photographing moments that are so meaningful. Here are some snippets of this beautiful day.
