Styled Shoot // Venue at the Edge

I’m so excited to finally share this styled shoot that I’ve been dreaming up for quite a while now.  If you’re not a photographer or don’t work in the wedding industry, you might not know what a “styled shoot” is.  There’s many different styles and approaches to them, but the overall purpose of a styled shoot is for wedding vendors, specifically photographers, to create content that showcases their work and creativity.  Styled shoots are fun because they give creatives a chance to play around with their craft outside of client work.  I’ve seen and attended styled shoots that are super elaborate and unique, and they can be a great chance to get content that may be a little different than an average wedding or couples session.  However, the purpose behind this styled shoot was a little different.

I live in small town southern Ohio/northern Kentucky, and our area isn’t necessarily a poppin’ place for the wedding industry like the bigger cities.  Buuuuut, that doesn’t mean there aren’t incredible couples around here getting married, and that doesn’t mean we’re lacking amazing wedding vendors.  I believe small towns have such a unique community to offer that you can’t always find in the bigger cities.  I wanted to host a styled shoot to bring some of those vendors together so we can build connections in our little community and grow together.  We had REAL local couples model for us, a gorgeous new wedding venue provide the space, a bouquet arrangement put together by a local florist, hair and makeup done by one of our local salons, and eight local photographers come together to capture it all.

It was so much fun meeting and working with everyone involved.  All of the vendors, photographers and models had so much fun, had a space to be creative, and made so many great connections with one another.  I cherish this little community we have so much, and I can’t wait to work with all of these wonderful people again in the future!
