Backyard Hilltop Wedding in Vinton County

Hayley & Alex’s wedding was on the most gorgeous June day in Vinton County, Ohio. Their original plan was to get married in July, but unlike many other couples who were postponing their wedding, these two decided to have their wedding a month sooner! They decided to have a small wedding with only family there to witness, up on a beautiful hilltop of family property. The couple got ready for the day and did a first look before the ceremony, which gave us plenty of time to capture some magical bride & groom portraits. Their ceremony was short but sweet (my favorite kind), and then they gathered with their loved ones for good food. Hayley & Alex decided a traditional reception with dancing, toasts, garter & bouquet tosses was not their style. Instead, they cut their cake and we headed back up to the hilltop so they could share their first dance alone (well, with me and the videographers there to capture it).

I love working with couples like Hayley & Alex who aren’t afraid to make their wedding day their own and get what they want out of it, rather than feeling obligated to follow tradition. They day was laid back, fun, and these two got everything they could want out of it: to just be married!
